“The locus of the human mystery is perception of this world. From it proceeds every thought, every art.”
—Marilynne Robinson
Welcome, I’m Kate!
I am licensed clinical social worker who specializes in supporting those living with or supporting those with substance use issues.
Operating from a place of compassion and curiosity, I use evidence-based modalities to support people in identifying, defining, and moving towards their recovery goals. Read more about my approach here.
I believe therapy is a space for honest exploration, healing, and reconnection—with oneself, with others, and with what feels most meaningful. At its core, therapy is a relational process; change happens through trust, attunement, and collaboration. I see each client as the expert on their own life and approach our work together with curiosity, respect, and compassion. I also understand that emotional pain and resilience are shaped not only by individual experiences but by broader systems—such as racism, gender dynamics, economic precarity, and intergenerational trauma. My role is to hold space for the full complexity of your story, to support your process of making meaning, and to walk with you as you move toward greater clarity, agency, and connection.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask the questions you need to determine whether we could be a good fit.
I am based in Northern California and provide telehealth therapy across California and North Carolina.
